For Freelancers and Entrepreneurs

Below are some of the resources I use to keep me on track.

This is an online bank for freelancers and entrepreneurs. The best part about this online bank is that you can set up your account to automatically deduct taxes from your income and put in a separate account. 

Wix is a drag-and-drop website creator. It's so easy to get your website up and running. 

Click up is a great project management app that does it all.

For Instructional Designers

Want to break into instructional design? There are many certifications and boot camps to help you transition. Here are some resources that helped me. 

As an instructional designer, you will need a portfolio. One way to build items to put in your portfolio is to create your own projects. Go Design Something is a website full of design prompts to get your creative juices flowing so that you can design assets for your portfolio. 

Wix is a drag-and-drop website creator. It's so easy to get your website up and running. Wix is a great place to house your portfolio.

I completed an internship with Keel Works that helped me get my first job. In this internship, you will not only learn the fundamentals of instructional design, but you will work with a team of other instructional designers and subject matter experts to design a learning experience. Keep in mind this internship is unpaid. 

For Writers

Want to practice your writing skills? There are many certifications and boot camps to help you. Here are some resources I use regularly to help me. 

This is my Etsy shop with digital templates you can use to help your writing and editing practice.

This site is great for showing you the reading level of the text you are writing as well as ways to make your writing more concise. The site is named after the writer Ernest Hemingway who was known for his short sentences and concise writing style. 

A perennial favorite, Grammarly shows you grammatical, mechanical, and spelling errors in your writing and suggests corrections. Grammarly can be used in most word processing programs including Google docs and email programs.
